Jerry Uelsmann Rocks Bon Jovi

September 28, 2016

There is a picture that has haunted Jon Bon Jovi for a while. It wouldn’t get out of his head. It was a black & white photograph by Jerry Uelsmann. The artist had combined a picture of an old house, with strong roots. For Jon “this photo paints our picture – and so it became our album cover”, he says. The album drops October 21, 2016 and can be pre-ordered on BonJovi.com

A Free Public Artist Talk by Shawna Moore and Jeff Hirst

July 20, 2016

Join us Thursday July 28, at 6pm.

A Telluride Gallery of Fine Arts artist since 2010, Shawna Moore uses the interplay of materials in her encaustic work as a visual diary of her life experiences.  In the layers of her work that appear and disappear in the creative process, Moore creates a record of her own selective memory.

Jeff Hirst, a newcomer to Telluride, uses printmaking to investigate relationships between man-made architectural structure and the natural landscape, and the questions that arise when these two forces coexist in an urban environment.

Both Moore and Hirst create work in action, their pieces shift and change with each layer of composition.  This July in Telluride, Moore and Hirst will join forces to explore the dynamic relationship between screen printing and encaustic painting, through a public, joint artist talk on July

Also, don't miss Wax and Screen: Combining Techniques for Unique Outcomes at the Ah Haa School, July 29th - 31st.

By creating repeatable printed designs that can then be transferred onto wax, Hirst and Moore will explain how multiple transparent layers of color and image slowly develop into a multi-dimensional, evocative work of art.
